For the past month, Chelsea has been struggling for appealing FIFA’s decision about their sentence following FIFA decision to ban them for the next two transfer window. But the appeal has been rejected by FIFA.
FIFA found Chelsea guilty of breaching rules over the signings of foreign minors and following that, The Blues launched an appeal last month in the hope the punishment would get overturned, reduced or may be delayed for some time. But FIFA rejected their appeal.
Hence now, Chelsea’s side has to challenge the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport as they attempt to get the ban frozen ahead of the summer transfer window. Following their last appeal, the only change to the ban is that the club will still be allowed to sign players under the age of 16 for the next two windows.
FIFA has released an official statement on Wednesday and stated that The FIFA Appeal Committee has decided to partially uphold the appeal lodged by Chelsea FC against the decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee to sanction the club with a ban on registering new players at both national and international level for the next two complete and consecutive registration periods. FIFA also explained this ban applied to the club as a whole, with the exception of the women’s and futsal teams. The club also allowed to release their players in the ban periods.
Maurizio Sarri Pledged To Turn Chelsea Into Genuine Title Contenders
