Tiemoue Bakayoko has caught telling AC Milan’s manager to “f*** off” during the side’s 2-1 win over Bologna over a week ago. But the player claimed that he was simply repeating Gennaro Gattuso’s own words at that time,
The 24-year-old, who loaned from Chelsea at the start of the season is reported has infuriated Gennaro Gattuso last week by arriving late to training. The incident has caused he was named among the substitutes at the San Siro on Monday night.
Gennaro Gattuso reportedly ordered Tiemoue Bakayoko to warm up as Lucas Biglia went down injured midway through the first half, but the Italian was seemingly unsatisfied with the midfielder’s efforts on the touchline.
In a frosty clash between the pair in AC Milan dugout, Tiemoue Bakayoko was pictured telling Gennaro Gattuso to “f** off” as he retook his place on the bench with Jose Mauri eventually chosen to replace Lucas Biglia.
Tiemoue Bakayoko himself has not denied his foul-mouthed reaction to his manager, but the Frenchman has insisted that he is 200% committed to AC Milan and would never refuse to come on as a substitute.
Tiemoue Bakayoko Feels Misinterpreted
He also realized people have been talking about him for the past week weeks, but he decided to say nothing and continue working. But he feels the urge to react immediately because he doesn’t accept the interpretation that he was a player who refuses to take the field when his coach asks him to and the player who does not respect his club and his teammates. Despite starting on the bench, he was ready to give 200% even if he only played for 5 minutes in a game.
He also explained to the Malaysia gambling site that Gennaro Gattuso spoke to him in an “unexpected terms” which is what provoked his angry reaction. He said it happened when he sat on the bench and the coach spoke to him in unexpected terms and the only thing he did is repeated his words and nothing more.
He insisted that he never refuses to come into play and he does not have to drag himself to warm up. But what happened recently is the images speak for themselves and he feels misinterpreted. He also claimed that he had only one desire which entered the field and help his teammates as he has always done and as he will do until the end of the season.
